Old ‘poetry’ published in College paper.

I found a old Nazareth College Gleaner newspaper April 29, 1986, with some of my ‘poems’ in it.

Someday
I’ll wake up
and find
that I have really changed
but
it will take a long time
a lot of pain
a lot of tears.
My friends helped me through it.
They may not know it
but
without them
I would be that scared child
huddled in a corner of [...]

Morning’s sun rising.
Night’s rain evaporating.

Welcome back to the sun.

Bright sun hurts my eyes.
It’s been stormy for so long.

Haiku for End of Grade Testing

testing environment:

silence is roaring;
pencils frequently scratching;
test pages turning.

Students

feet fidget…worried
furtive glances at the clock;
when will this be done?

Circle the classroom;
maintain test validity;
try to stay awake.

Snapdragons
In pondering the ‘could have been’s’
I find the beauty in having ‘could have been’ moments.

Parental Bubble Wrap

April 17th, 2008 · No Comments

We do everything within our grasp to keep them from exposure to ‘the world’ too quickly.

But the world pushes in.

The world, in a random act, can destroy all your attempts.

Poem from long ago

November 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

In cleaning out some old papers, I found something I wrote a long time ago.  I believe it was during a college American History Class, on a beautiful sunny day (with big white clouds, at least that is all I could see from across the room and on the third floor).  Obviously, I had been [...]
